Mr. Hartner's fourth grade has been studying poetry.  On a friendly Fall day, the class discovered nature in the Outdoor Learning Center.  Switchgrass and little bluestem were examined.  Long lists of adjectives and verbs were developed. Here are a few of the poems titled--------

"See What I Found"

See what I Found
Little Blue Stem
Dalk, light, brown, green,
Flowing, swaying whistling in the wind.
I wonder who planted this?
Colten

See What I Found
Little Blue Stem
Fall, brown, soft, seeds,
Sways in the prairie of Nebraska.
I wonder how it got it's name?
Andrew

Look What I Found
Native Switch Grass
Tall, tickly, fluffy, calm,
Sways, whistles, grows in our back yard.
I wonder what it tastes like?
Trae

See What I Found
Native Switch Grass
Feathery, swaying, peaceful,
Rustling in the wind, flowing in the forest.
I wonder how long it has been around?
Kaileigh

See What I Found
Native Switch Grass
Brown, thick, gentle,
Rustling, whirling,
swaying in the breeze.
I wonder why it's hollow?
Jacob

See What I Found
Native Switch Grass
Smooth, bumpy, hollow, and tan,
It sways, it blows, it flows, it dangles, it whistles.
I wonder how it grows.
Ashleigh
