Adopt-a-Grandparent
A COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT FOR
MR. HARTNER'S FOURTH GRADERS
Our class is visiting "Adopt a Grandparents" again this year. AaG presents an opportunity for our students to develop friendships with the "forgotten generation", people in nursing homes. It also provides resources for Nebraska history and writing projects, as the residents share a wealth of experiences. What an opportunity, to perform community service while developing lasting friendships.
Thanks to the Northeast Elementary Activities Fund and St. John's Center, transportation in a KPS van and a RYDE bus is provided each visit.
