The following grading scale will be used:

93-100 A
86-92 B
78-85 C
70-77 D
Below F

There are 5 components to language learning:

~speaking~writing~listening~reading~cultural understanding~

Throughout the course, we will have the following assessments in these skills. they will be as follows:

quizzes 100 pts
tests 200 pts
oral communication (speaking) points will vary
portfolios (writing) 100 pts
CPR (cultural understanding) 400 pts +

Missed Assignments/Make-up Work

It is your responsibility to find out what assignments, quizzes, etc. you missed and to make them up accordingly. It is also your responsibility to seek help if you need it. I will be in the classroom before and after school if you need extra help.

You will need to arrange a mutually convenient time for taking missed quizzes/tests. All work should be made up as soon as possbible after returning to classes. Generally, I allow two days for each day missed. this is for class missed due to illness, not sports activities. If you know that you will be gone for school activities, it is your responsibility to get your assignments. They are due at the same time as the other students in class. No excuses!!!!!!! If you fail to make up the work within the allotted time, you will receive a grade of "0" for those assignments, quizzes, etc. missed.
