Kearney Public Schools
Kearney Public Schools uses a variety of ways to measure and assess
student growth. Throughout the year we use formal and informal
assessments. A formal aassessment is a test that has nationally
normed or a criterion referenced assessments that have been developed
at our district level. Also, teacher made tests, teacher
observations, and student projects are examples of informal assessment.

Standards-Based Instruction
The district curriculum is guided by academic standards and benchmarks
that describe what students should know and be able to do at each grade
level. Instruction is linked to the standards and benchmark
assessments are implemented at all grade levels. The district is
implementing standards-based curriculum on the timeline established by
the Nebraska Standards requirement.
