homework:

Homework will vary from week to week in our first grade classroom. Here are some things to know about the work I will be sending home with your child. Please remember that when your child returns homework to school completed and on time, they are learning responsibility!!!!
rolling pencil: PLANNERS
You can always count on the student planners coming home on Tuesdays and Thursdays (unless we do not have school that day, or the following day). Look for the red starred areas. These are items I will expect your child to complete at home. Remember that the planners are due back each Wednesday morning and Friday morning.
CUT AND FOLD BOOKS
Occasionally, look for a small, paper book to be stapled into your child's planner along with a parent signature slip. This is a book that I will expect your child to read to you. You will then need to sign the parent slip and return it to school with your child the next day. The book is for your child to keep!
MATH PAGES
Once in awhile I may staple a math page into your child's planner. This page can be completed at home and returned when your child returns his/her planner. This is a great way for you to know what concept we are learning at different times during the school year.
SPELLING WORDS
Your child will be taking a spelling test each Friday (or the last day of our school week) in our classroom. You can link to these Spelling Words.
