Our First Grade Daily Schedule |

Dear Parents,
This is our daily schedule. Most of the time
we follow this very closely! You are always welcome to come and visit
our classroom. This schedule may help you to plan your visit. Please
remember that the Parent Handbook requests that visits last no longer
than 1 hour in duration and that notice of the visit must be given the day prior.

7:45-8:05 Children arriving before the first bell (8:05) report to the media center
8:05 Children enter the classroom / locker area
8:10 Children are expected in the classroom
8:15 Morning Announcements, Attendance, Lunch Count
8:25 Calendar Time/Morning Opening
8:50 Spelling (Tests on Friday or the last day of the week)
9:10 Music (M & W) PE (T & Th)
These classes alternate on Fridays.
9:35 Recess
9:50 Library, Restroom Break and Snack Time (see note below)
10:00 Social Studies/or Science (M-W-F)
Show and Share (T) and Computers or PBS (Th)
10:30 Story Time
11:00 Recess
11:20 Lunch
11:40 Quiet Reading
11:50 Whole Group Reading
12:30 Journal Writing
1:00 Guided Reading Groups and Centers
1:30 Recess
1:45 Math
1:50 Art (Only on Wednesdays)
2:30 Handwriting (Mrs. Maloley on Mondays)
2:45 Shared Writing in Planners
2:55 Closing Activities
3:05 Children are dismissed from the front doors
Snack Time
Your child is welcome to bring a snack to school. Please make sure it is something healthy (fruit, cheese, crackers, yogurt, raisins, etc) and something that can be eaten in a 10-15 minute period. No juice boxes or drinks please. Water from the faucet will be available during our snack time.
