Kearney Public Schools

Kearney Public Schools uses a variety of ways to measure and assess students growth. Throughout the year we use formal and informal assessments. A formal assessment is a test that has been nationally normed or a criterion referenced assessments that have been developed at our district level. Also, teacher made tests, teacher observations, student projects are examples of informal assessment.

Standards-Based Instruction

The district curriculum is guided by academic standards and benchmarks that describe what students should know and be able to do at each grade level. Instruction is linked to the standards and benchmark assessment is implemented at all gread levels. The district is implementing standards-based curriculm on the timeline established by the Nebraska standards requirements.
