Ways To Help Your Child Succeed

1. Be positive and supportive of new challenges and learning.

2. Ask open-ended questions about daily work: "What was the best thing that happened to you in school today?" "What was the coolest thing you learned today?"

3. Encourage organizational skills with planners and homework.

4. Step back, and let your child learn his or her own lessons in life. Some of the most teachable moments for kids occur when they experience accountability for their actions.

5. Look for ways to connect learning to real life. Relate course content to actual situations where you would need and use that knowledge.
