 Eric Kitzelman My name is Eric Kitzelman. I have been married to my wife Dee Dee for 18 years. I have two wonderful daughters, Jordan and Taylor. I really enjoy sports and watching my daughters in their various activities. I have been teaching for 17 years for Kearney Public Schools. I taught at Kearney High and Horizon Middle School and am currently here at Sunrise Middle School. I teach 6th grade keyboarding, 7th grade computer, 8th grade computer, and 8th grade careers and business. Course Descriptions The following is a quick explanation of what basically is covered in my computer and business classes 6th Computer Keyboarding This class will introduce and refine keyboarding skills using the Herzog method of Keyboarding. These skills will be used in application programs in academic areas. PowerPoint, a multi-media application, will be introduced and /or reviewed also. 7th Computer Connections Computer Connections is designed to improve keyboarding skills and introduce and refine computer applications skills. MicroSoft Office, AppleWorks and Safari/Firefox will be used in this course. Some of the units covered are word processing, graphics, multi-media and the Internet. 8th Computer Technology Students will have the opportunity to explore different areas of computer technology. Some of the areas are: Presentations, desktop publishing, web pages, virtual reality, and computer video. The students will use what they learn and apply it to other school subjects or personal interest areas. Exploring Careers/Business During this class students will learn some basic steps in researching and choosing a career to fit their lifestyle and the job search process. A business simulation will be used to introduce basic principles in the day to day operations of running a business.
