Media Center Resources

The Sunrise Middle School Media Center has a wide variety of print and non-print resources available for students to use while completing school assignments and projects, or when doing their own personal research. Materials are selected that support the units that are taught by the team and elective teachers at Sunrise, and that middle school students enjoy using. Areas of special emphasis are the books used in the Accelerated Reader portion of the Middle Level Reading Curriculum and the Reference Collection.

The Sunrise Middle School Media Center has approximately 30 computers, 2 scanners and both monochrome and color printers available for student use. A wide variety of materials are available for students to use on the computers to either find information or create school projects and reports. The Internet can be accessed by all the computers, and the media center subscribes to online resources such as Electric Library, Grolier Multimedia Encyclopedia Online & CultureGrams for students to use. Other equipment available includes digital still and video cameras and equipment to "burn" cd's and dvd's.
